Al Ahly has once again rewritten its own history books, with the Red Castle smashing multiple club records in a dominant run that has also seen midfielder Franck Kessié achieve a truly unique individual milestone.
The Cairo giants have been in devastating form, setting new benchmarks for consecutive wins, goals scored, and points accumulated in a single season. The numbers now place this squad among the finest in the club’s storied 117-year existence.
At the heart of this historic surge stands Ivorian star Franck Kessié. The former Barcelona and AC Milan man has not only been a midfield engine but has also delivered a feat never before seen in Al Ahly’s long history. Kessié has now scored in five consecutive away matches across all competitions, a record no other player in the club’s past has managed to achieve.
The milestone was confirmed after Kessié found the net in the team’s latest away fixture, extending his remarkable scoring streak on the road. His ability to arrive late in the box and finish with composure has added a new dimension to Al Ahly’s attack, making him an indispensable figure in the manager’s plans.
Beyond Kessié’s personal achievement, the team’s collective numbers are staggering. Al Ahly has now won 14 league matches in a row, surpassing the previous club record of 13 set back in 2006. The run includes victories over direct title rivals, with the defense conceding just three goals in that span.
In total, the team has amassed 48 points from 18 matches, another club best at this stage of the season. The previous record of 46 points, set during the 2018-2019 campaign, has now been eclipsed. With 16 wins and two draws, Al Ahly remains unbeaten in the league, holding a nine-point lead at the top of the table.
The attacking numbers are equally impressive. The team has scored 42 goals so far, the highest tally after 18 matchdays in the club’s history. The previous best was 39 goals, recorded in the 2005-2006 season.
Manager Marcel Koller has been quick to praise his squad’s mentality. “These records are not the target,” he said in a recent press conference. “They are the result of hard work every day. The players believe in what we are doing, and the numbers show that. But we must keep going. The season is long, and we want to finish it with trophies.”
Kessié, for his part, remained humble when asked about his unique achievement. “I am happy to help the team,” he said. “The most important thing is that we win. The records are nice, but we want the league title and the Champions League. That is what matters.”
Al Ahly’s next test comes against a mid-table side, but with the team firing on all cylinders, the records could keep tumbling. For now, the Red Castle stands tall, with Kessié’s name etched into a new chapter of its glorious history.
