Sam Kerr has married long-time partner Kristie Mewis, with the Chelsea striker confirming the news in a social media post.
The Matildas captain tied the knot with the USWNT midfielder in Australia, sharing photos from the day and writing: “My forever.”
Kerr and Mewis have been together for several years and have often spoken about their relationship, which began after meeting through football. They went public in 2021 and later announced their engagement.
The wedding brings a personal milestone for Kerr during a period in which she has been away from the pitch. The 31-year-old has been sidelined with an ACL injury since January 2024, while Mewis has also battled recent fitness issues.
Despite being on different paths at club and international level, the pair have remained one of football’s best-known couples, regularly supporting each other across major tournaments and league campaigns.
Kerr has won multiple trophies with Chelsea and remains one of the most recognisable names in the women’s game, while Mewis has been a regular part of the United States set-up and has played in both the NWSL and in England.
Now, with the ceremony held in Australia and the news confirmed publicly by Kerr, the couple have marked a new chapter together away from the spotlight of matchday.
