Several Africa Cup of Nations teams have prayed together at the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, the largest mosque in Morocco.

In footage shared on social media, players and staff from different countries can be seen standing side by side inside the famous landmark, taking part in a joint moment of prayer.

The visit to the mosque took place as the tournament continues, with teams using the day to step away from the pitch and focus on reflection and unity away from the pressure of matches.

The Hassan II Mosque is one of Morocco’s best-known sites and can hold tens of thousands of worshippers. The images of rival nations praying together quickly drew attention online and were widely praised for showing respect and togetherness during the Africa Cup of Nations.

It was revealed that the teams were welcomed at the mosque as part of a shared visit, with players from multiple squads attending at the same time rather than going separately.
