Mac Allister says Liverpool changed too many things

Liverpool's Mac Allister looks pensive in the team's red kit, clapping to fans after a match, with blurred crowd in the background.

Alexis Mac Allister has admitted Liverpool “changed too many things” after last summer’s big-spending rebuild, saying the transition has not been easy at times.

The Argentina midfielder, who arrived at Anfield ahead of the 2023-24 season, opened up on the frustrations the squad has felt while trying to settle after a major overhaul in the transfer market.

“It hurts,” Mac Allister said, reflecting on difficult moments this season, as he pointed to the amount of change Liverpool went through in a short period.

With several new signings coming in and key pieces moving around, Mac Allister explained that the team have had to adapt quickly, and he felt the scale of the changes has made that job harder than expected.

He added that the Reds have at times paid the price for altering too many things at once, even as the group continues to work to find the right balance.

Mac Allister’s comments come as Liverpool look to build consistency and improve results, with the midfielder insisting the players are determined to push on and make the most of the squad’s reshaped look.
