Rayan Cherki says Pep Guardiola made Man City move simpler

Rayan Cherki celebrates passionately in Manchester City’s neon grey kit, with Erling Haaland in the background, during a match.

Rayan Cherki has explained how Pep Guardiola helped make his early days at Manchester City “clearer and simpler” after completing a summer move to the Premier League champions.

The French attacker said Guardiola’s approach quickly removed any doubt about what is expected of him at the Etihad Stadium, as he starts a new chapter after leaving Lyon.

Cherki also praised City’s style of play and the manager’s detailed guidance, describing it as the “perfect combination” for a player trying to settle into one of Europe’s most demanding squads.

He stressed that Guardiola’s communication has been key, making roles and responsibilities easy to understand despite the high standards inside the dressing room.

Cherki’s comments offer an early look at how the 20-year-old is adapting to life under Guardiola, with the midfielder keen to make an impact in City colours as pre-season continues.

City have added Cherki as part of their summer recruitment, and the player is now focused on integrating fully with his new team-mates and showing what he can bring in the final third.
