Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi has denied an accusation that he directed an offensive remark, insisting he did not say what was attributed to him.
The case has drawn wide attention in Morocco in recent days, with Ounahi pushed to respond after the claim spread on social media and in local discussions.
For his part, national team head coach Walid Regragui stood firmly behind the player, stressing his confidence in Ounahi’s character and what he brings to the squad on and off the pitch.
Regragui also revealed that he promised Ounahi he would “gift him the cup,” underlining his determination to win a trophy with the national team and to make the moment special for the midfielder after the episode.
The coach’s message was clear: Morocco will stay focused on its targets, while the staff continue to support their player as he rejects the offensive allegation.
