Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed they will consider Rhulani Mokwena as they continue their search for a new head coach.
Mokwena, the former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician, has drawn attention after his recent work at MC Alger, which has put him back in the conversation around top coaching jobs.
Chiefs’ head of football Kaizer Motaung Jr was asked directly whether the club is looking at Mokwena as an option. He did not rule it out and admitted the club must assess every suitable candidate.
“Yeah, we have to look,” Motaung Jr said when quizzed on the possibility of appointing Mokwena.
Chiefs have been linked with several coaches as they look to make a key appointment ahead of the next season, with the club eager to return to consistent success.
The Soweto giants have not announced a new coach yet, and Motaung Jr’s comments suggest the club’s process remains open as they continue to evaluate the best fit for the job.
