Liam Rosenior has been convicted of speeding after being caught on his return to the UK, with the new Chelsea boss now learning his punishment.

The 39-year-old, who has recently taken charge at Stamford Bridge, appeared in court following the incident and admitted the offence. Rosenior was found to have been clocked breaking the speed limit while driving after coming back to the country.

As revealed, the court handed Rosenior a driving ban and issued a fine, with the punishment confirmed as part of the ruling. The decision means Chelsea’s new head coach will not be able to drive for the length of the suspension.

The timing is awkward for Rosenior, who is settling into a new role at one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs ahead of the upcoming season. Chelsea are currently preparing for their next run of fixtures as the new manager begins work with his squad.

Rosenior’s conviction comes with his focus expected to remain on football matters at Cobham, but the legal outcome is now on record after the speeding offence was dealt with by the courts.
