Hakim Ziyech has said that his exclusion from the Morocco squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations was “a logical decision”, admitting he understood the reasons behind the call.
Speaking about the situation, Ziyech acknowledged that the national team staff made a choice that made sense at the time, and he did not present it as something unfair. He stressed that such decisions are part of football and depend on form and selections made by the coach.
The winger’s comments come after his name was left out of the plans for AFCON 2025, a decision that sparked debate among Moroccan supporters given his long history with the national team.
