Algeria’s national team left Morocco via a detour through Tunisia after their elimination, a move shaped by travel restrictions between the two countries.
The squad had been in Morocco for their tournament matches, but once their campaign ended, returning home was not straightforward. With no direct route available, the delegation organised an alternative trip plan.
It was revealed that Algeria travelled out of Morocco to Tunisia first, before continuing on to Algeria. The detour was arranged to ensure the players and staff could get back without delay after their exit.
The unusual route underlined how off-field realities can affect teams even after the football is over, as Algeria were forced to take extra steps simply to leave the host country following their elimination.
