Nigeria deepened Mohamed Salah’s suffering once again, as the Liverpool star failed to find a way past the Super Eagles in another frustrating outing.
The latest setback added to a difficult spell for Salah, who has been searching for a decisive moment but continues to run into the same barrier whenever Nigeria are the opponent.
Nigeria were organised and disciplined throughout, closing spaces early and limiting Salah’s impact in the final third. Their compact shape forced him into crowded areas and reduced his usual threat.
The match followed a familiar pattern, with Salah trying to lead the attacks and create openings, but Nigeria’s defence stayed firm and did not allow him the room he needed to change the game.
The result underlined Nigeria’s ability to neutralise one of Africa’s biggest stars, leaving Salah with another disappointing chapter against a rival that has repeatedly made life difficult for him.
