Khalid Boulahrouz delivered a blunt message to Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, insisting the Colombian should keep his feet on the ground and focus on doing the basics well.
Speaking about Diaz’s performances, Boulahrouz said the forward must not act as if he is a global superstar who can decide matches on his own every week.
“You are not Zidane or Ronaldo,” Boulahrouz told Diaz, stressing that players of that level earned the right to take risks because they produced decisive moments all the time.
In his comments, Boulahrouz argued that Diaz needs to make simpler choices in key moments, play with more discipline, and bring consistency to his game rather than forcing actions that do not suit the situation.
The former defender added that Diaz has clear qualities, but believes he will only reach a higher level if he improves his decision-making and becomes more effective for the team.
