Dominik Szoboszlai has played down fresh speculation over Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool future, insisting nothing has changed in his conversations with the Egypt forward.
The midfielder revealed he stayed in regular contact with Salah while the winger was away with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, saying they were speaking “almost every day” during the tournament.
Szoboszlai’s comments come as questions continue to be asked about Salah’s long-term situation at Anfield, but the Hungarian made it clear he has not been given any indication that the forward is preparing to leave.
Instead, Szoboszlai stressed that Salah remained focused while he was on international duty, and that their frequent chats were normal rather than a sign of anything else.
Liverpool have not made any new official announcement on Salah’s future, and Szoboszlai’s update offered little fuel for the ongoing debate beyond confirming the close contact he has kept with one of the club’s biggest stars.
