Ismael Saibari returns to PSV and breaks silence on final

Ismael Saibari has returned to PSV after his international duty with Morocco and has spoken for the first time about the Olympic final in which his country lost to Spain.

The midfielder was part of the Morocco squad that reached the final, but it ended in disappointment as Spain won 2-1. Saibari had stayed quiet in the days after the defeat, but has now broken his silence back in Eindhoven.

Speaking about the match, Saibari admitted it was a painful moment for the group, but also made clear there was pride in what Morocco achieved during the tournament. Morocco’s run to the final was historic, even though the last step proved too difficult against Spain.

Saibari is now back with PSV and has rejoined the club for training as preparations continue for the new season. PSV will be hoping the midfielder can quickly switch his focus back to club football after an intense summer with the national team.
