Harry Maguire has praised Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick, saying the former midfielder is still showing his class on the training pitch.
Carrick has stepped into the role on a temporary basis following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure, with United continuing their search for a permanent replacement.
Maguire admitted the squad have been impressed by what they have seen from Carrick since he took charge, revealing the 40-year-old has not lost any of the quality that made him such an important player at Old Trafford.
“He’s still got it,” Maguire said, as he explained that Carrick has been involved in sessions and continues to show his ability in training.
United are preparing for their next fixtures under Carrick’s leadership, with Maguire backing the interim boss to help steady the team during the transition and insisting the players are fully focused on producing results while the managerial situation is resolved.
