Manchester City have completed the permanent transfer of youngster Tosin Adarabioyo to Fulham in a deal worth £27 million, as Pep Guardiola continues to trim his squad ahead of a renewed Premier League title challenge.

The 24-year-old defender, a product of City’s academy, had spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Craven Cottage and impressed despite Fulham’s relegation. That spell convinced Marco Silva’s side to push for a permanent move, and City have now agreed to let him leave in a significant sale.

Adarabioyo made only a handful of senior appearances for City, with opportunities limited by the club’s depth at centre-back. He is now set to be a key part of Fulham’s plans as they prepare for life back in the top flight.

The £27m fee is another strong return for City from an academy graduate, and the move also reduces Guardiola’s options as he keeps his group lean for the long campaign ahead.

Fulham, promoted from the Championship last season, have moved quickly to strengthen their squad. Adarabioyo’s arrival represents a major piece of business for the London club as they look to establish themselves in the Premier League.
