Pep Guardiola was absent from Manchester City’s scheduled press conference after travelling to Barcelona to deliver a speech at a pro-Palestine event.

The City manager was due to speak to the media ahead of his side’s next fixture, but did not attend the session as planned. The club instead arranged for other representatives to face questions, with Guardiola’s absence linked to his appearance in Spain.

Guardiola had been in Barcelona to take part in an event where he made a public address in support of Palestine. In his speech, he spoke about the ongoing situation in Gaza and called for an end to the violence, reflecting on the human cost of the conflict.

City have not indicated any further issue beyond the scheduling clash, and there was no suggestion of disciplinary action. Guardiola’s return to duties is expected as normal as City continue their preparations.
