The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) wants the start date of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to be pushed back.
Morocco is set to host the tournament, but the federation believes the current calendar does not work. The FRMF has therefore asked for a postponement of the opening of the competition.
The request has been put forward to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). No final decision has been confirmed yet, and CAF has not officially announced whether it will change the schedule.
The development comes as Morocco continues preparations for the tournament, with the FRMF insisting more time is needed to ensure the event can be staged under the right conditions.
