N’Golo Kante reportedly went on strike in an attempt to push through a move to Fenerbahce after a deadline-day deal dramatically fell apart.

The former Chelsea midfielder had been expected to complete a switch, but the transfer collapsed late on, leaving Kante’s situation unresolved as the window shut.

It has now been revealed that Kante responded by refusing to take part as normal, with the France international said to have taken action in a bid to force the move through despite the failed agreement.

Fenerbahce’s pursuit was not completed before the deadline, and the deal is understood to have broken down at the last moment, sparking the stand-off involving the 2018 World Cup winner.

Kante, a key figure in Chelsea’s Premier League and Champions League triumphs, is now left waiting as the fallout from the collapsed switch continues, with his strike seen as a clear attempt to secure the transfer that slipped away on deadline day.
