Khaled Bayoumi questions CAF speed in condemning Al Ahly

Al-Ahly fans in red jerseys celebrate passionately, holding a flag and creating a dramatic scene with smoke during a match.

Khaled Bayoumi has questioned the speed of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in condemning Al Ahly, saying the quick reaction “raises suspicion”.

Bayoumi’s comments came after CAF issued its statement about Al Ahly, a move he considered unusually rapid compared to other cases.

He argued that the pace of the decision and the way it was communicated left room for doubts, insisting that similar situations in African competitions have not always been handled with the same urgency.

Bayoumi also stressed that Al Ahly, as one of the continent’s biggest clubs, should be treated with the same standards applied across the board, without selective speed or pressure.

In his view, the key issue is not only the content of CAF’s condemnation, but the timing, which he believes needs clearer explanation to avoid further controversy.
