Liam Rosenior has been warned he could soon find himself under pressure at Chelsea, despite making a strong start in the job.

The former Hull City boss has only recently taken charge at Stamford Bridge, but ex-Blues player Pat Nevin has suggested that the club’s standards mean managers are never given much time to settle. Nevin believes Rosenior will be judged quickly, regardless of early results, because of the expectations that come with the role.

Nevin pointed to Chelsea’s history of changing head coaches and said that even a positive opening can be wiped out by a short run of poor performances. His message was clear: at Chelsea, the demands are relentless, and the sack is always a possibility if results dip.

Rosenior’s early work has attracted praise, with the team showing signs of improvement, but Nevin’s comments underlined that progress alone may not be enough. The former winger stressed that the club measures success in trophies and Champions League qualification, not just a promising style of play.

The warning comes as a reminder of the reality of management at Stamford Bridge. No matter how well Rosenior starts, Nevin believes Chelsea’s patience can run out fast if form turns or the team falls short of the targets expected at one of England’s biggest clubs.
