Arsenal legend warns Eberechi Eze after Arteta snub

An Arsenal legend has warned Eberechi Eze that life away from Crystal Palace will demand far more from him after the midfielder returned to Premier League action following a month on the sidelines.

Eze made his first league appearance in four weeks at the weekend, ending a frustrating spell in which he had not featured in the competition. It came after he was also left out by Mikel Arteta in what was viewed as a clear snub, adding further pressure on the England international to make an instant impact when the chance arrived.

Speaking after Eze’s long-awaited return, the former Arsenal star delivered a blunt message, insisting the 25-year-old must quickly adapt to higher standards and greater scrutiny.

“You’re not at Crystal Palace anymore,” the Arsenal legend said, stressing that Eze can no longer rely on reputation alone and must show consistency every time he steps onto the pitch.

The warning comes at a key moment for Eze, who is trying to re-establish his rhythm and prove his value after the recent setback. With competition for places intense and patience limited, the Arsenal icon made it clear that excuses will not be accepted and that Eze must respond with performances.

Eze will now look to build on his return and put himself back in the frame in the weeks ahead, knowing the spotlight will remain firmly on him after Arteta’s decision and the public message from an Arsenal great.
