Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has been branded a “habitual offender” after being fined for a 10th driving offence.
The Frenchman has been punished again following the latest incident, with the court taking a dim view of his record on the road. It has now been revealed that this was Fofana’s 10th motoring offence, a tally that left officials unimpressed as the fine was handed down.
The criticism came as part of the judgement, with the player’s repeated breaches highlighted during proceedings. The label of “habitual offender” was used in reference to the number of offences on his file.
Fofana, who has struggled for continuity at Stamford Bridge because of injury issues since his move to west London, is now facing scrutiny away from the pitch as well. The latest fine adds to an unwanted pattern, with the defender again finding himself in trouble for his actions behind the wheel.
Chelsea have not issued any official statement on the matter.
