Egypt international Ahmed Fatouh is facing a possible six-match suspension after being accused of attempting to bribe a police officer, according to reports.
The case stems from an incident in which Fatouh was stopped and later accused of offering money to a policeman in exchange for ignoring violations. The accusations have put the player at risk of sporting sanctions on top of the legal proceedings.
Under regulations, a player can be handed a ban of up to six matches if found guilty of actions that damage the game’s integrity or involve improper conduct, with the disciplinary decision depending on the outcome of the investigations.
The latest development revealed is that the player is now threatened with a six-game ban following the bribery allegations, as attention turns to what the authorities and football officials decide next.
