Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan said he feels there are people who do not want the national team to go far at the next Africa Cup of Nations, stressing that reaching the final in Morocco is a clear target for his side.
Speaking about the upcoming tournament, Hassan said: “There are people who fear Egypt reaching the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco,” as he highlighted the pressure and criticism that often follow the team despite its history on the continent.
Hassan added that the players and staff are focused on their work, and that the aim is to prepare properly and compete strongly, regardless of any outside noise. He underlined that Egypt should always be judged by ambition and results, not by doubts or negative talk.
The Egypt coach also spoke about the importance of unity around the team in the coming period, insisting that the squad needs support as it starts planning for the tournament and the challenges ahead.
Egypt will play the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, and Hassan made it clear that the goal is to go deep in the competition and fight for the title, with the final firmly in mind.
