Barcelona returned to the top of La Liga after beating Real Oviedo at Camp Nou, with Lamine Yamal once again the player who made the difference.
The teenage winger provided the spark from the start, playing with composure beyond his years and repeatedly pushing Oviedo back. Barcelona controlled most of the ball and patiently looked for openings, while the visitors sat deep and tried to slow the tempo whenever possible.
Yamal’s quality eventually told, as his impact in the final third helped Barca turn pressure into goals. With the match moving in Barcelona’s direction, the Blaugrana then managed the game well, keeping their shape and limiting Oviedo’s chances to get back into it.
There were also positives across the pitch as Barcelona’s class shone through at home, with several key performers helping ensure the result never slipped away. The win was enough to lift them back to the summit of the league table.
It was another reminder of how important Yamal has become to Xavi’s side. Still only a teenager, he continues to produce moments that decide matches, and this was more evidence that Barcelona’s latest wonderkid is already delivering at the top level.
