Manchester United are considering a new club-record move in the Premier League as they step up plans for a major summer rebuild.

United have already been linked with a number of high-profile targets across Europe, but attention has now turned to a deal that would break their current transfer benchmark. Reports suggest the club are weighing up a bid worth around £90 million for Tottenham striker Harry Kane, a figure that would represent the biggest fee United have paid for a player in Premier League history.

Kane’s future remains one of the biggest stories of the market. The England captain is approaching the final year of his Spurs contract and has yet to agree an extension. Tottenham’s stance has been firm in public, but the longer the situation runs, the more interest will build from clubs looking for an elite No. 9. United are among those pushing hardest, with Erik ten Hag keen to add a proven goalscorer to lead the line.

Spurs, for their part, are expected to demand a package well above that figure, especially with Kane’s importance to the team and the challenge of finding a replacement. United would also face competition from other top sides if Kane indicates he is ready for a new chapter. Even so, the scale of the mooted title-making bid underlines how serious United are about finding a long-term striker solution.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid are said to have made a €100 million offer for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham. The 19-year-old has become one of the most sought-after players in Europe after impressing in the Bundesliga and on the international stage with England.

Madrid have been tracking Bellingham closely and appear ready to move quickly, with the club planning for the next era of their midfield. Their proposal would be a huge opening offer, but Dortmund are believed to value the player higher and could hold out for a package that rises significantly with add-ons.

Bellingham has also been linked with several Premier League clubs, with English sides keeping a close eye on the situation. However, Madrid’s interest has long been considered the strongest, and a bid of this size would put them in a powerful position to lead the race.

Both potential deals are still developing, but they underline the scale of ambition among Europe’s biggest clubs as they prepare for another expensive and fast-moving transfer window.
