Morocco goalkeeper El Mahdi Benabid said the Atlas Lions are targeting a win over Cameroon in normal time, as both sides prepare to meet in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking in a video message, Benabid stressed that Morocco want to avoid extra time and settle the contest within the 90 minutes.
“We hope to beat Cameroon in regulation time,” the goalkeeper said, underlining the team’s desire to keep control of the match and finish the job early.
Benabid also pointed to the size of the challenge, describing Cameroon as a strong opponent with experience at the highest level in Africa.
At the same time, he sounded confident about Morocco’s chances, insisting the squad is ready and focused on delivering a result that matches the expectations of the fans.
