Morocco’s Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has opened talks with the son of Dutch great Robin van Persie, after receiving the green light from federation president Fouzi Lekjaa.
The move is part of the federation’s efforts to strengthen the national teams by approaching dual-nationality talents abroad, with the aim of convincing them to represent Morocco at international level.
According to the report, negotiations are ongoing with Van Persie’s son and his entourage, as Morocco looks to secure his commitment for the future.
The development comes as the FRMF continues its strategy of reaching out early to eligible players with Moroccan roots, especially those progressing in European academies, to bring them into the national setup.
