Morocco head coach Walid Regragui revealed that King Mohammed VI played a key role in pushing the national team toward qualification, praising the support and attention the squad received during its successful campaign.

Regragui also offered an apology to one of the Atlas Lions’ stars, admitting the player did not get the recognition he deserved despite his contributions with the team.

Speaking about the atmosphere around the group, the coach said the backing from the country’s leadership gave the players extra motivation and a strong sense of responsibility, helping them handle the pressure and stay focused on their target.

Regragui pointed out that Morocco’s qualification was not the result of one moment, but the outcome of steady work and commitment from everyone involved, from the players and staff to all those supporting the team off the pitch.

He stressed that the squad’s ambition remains high, adding that the team is determined to keep building on what has been achieved and to meet expectations in the next challenges.
