Ruben Amorim makes six behind the scenes changes at Man Utd

Cunha, wearing the number 10 jersey, shakes hands with Manchester United's manager Michael Carrick, amidst teammates in red kits.

Ruben Amorim has wasted little time settling into life at Manchester United, making six behind-the-scenes changes as he looks to win over both players and club staff.

The new United boss has started reshaping the day-to-day routine at Carrington, with tweaks aimed at improving standards, sharpening preparation and creating a better working environment across the squad.

Those adjustments come under the spotlight after Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough side got the better of Amorim in their latest meeting, ensuring the former United midfielder enjoyed the bragging rights on the pitch while attention turned to what Amorim is doing away from it.

Amorim’s early work has included changes designed to make training more intense and organised, with a clear focus on raising performance levels. He has also looked at how players recover between sessions, and how staff support that process, in an effort to bring more structure to the week.

Communication has been another key point, with Amorim keen to set expectations quickly and ensure his methods are understood. The intention is to build trust internally, while creating a clear identity in how United operate behind closed doors.

United’s hierarchy have backed Amorim to put his stamp on the squad, and these initial moves are part of a wider plan to modernise the working culture at the club as results and performances are targeted for improvement.

For now, although Carrick has had his moment against him, Amorim is focused on the bigger job at Old Trafford, believing the foundations laid in training and in the club’s daily routines will help drive progress on the pitch.
