Will Mykhailo Mudryk ever play for Chelsea again?

Mykhailo Mudryk’s Chelsea career is now on hold, with the winger suspended while he fights to clear his name and keep his future in the game alive.

The Ukraine international has not played for the Blues since late 2024, after he was provisionally suspended following an adverse analytical finding. Chelsea have not set a return date and the player remains unable to feature while the process continues.

Mudryk joined Chelsea in January 2023 in a deal that saw the London club beat Arsenal to his signature, ending a saga that had been heavily focused on a move to Mikel Arteta’s side. Three years on from that transfer snub, the 23-year-old is facing a very different battle.

In a statement released at the time of the suspension, Mudryk insisted he had done nothing wrong and said the outcome came as a shock. He also said he would work to prove his innocence.

Chelsea, meanwhile, confirmed they were aware of the situation and stated that the player had denied any wrongdoing. The club also said it would not comment further while the case was ongoing.

The suspension has left Mudryk’s Chelsea career in limbo at a time when he was still trying to establish himself as a key part of the team. His spell at Stamford Bridge has brought flashes of pace and threat, but the winger has struggled for consistency and has often found himself under scrutiny for his end product.

The timing is also damaging for both player and club. Mudryk’s development has effectively been paused, while Chelsea are left without one of their high-profile attacking options as they continue to reshape the squad.

For now, there is no clear answer on whether Mudryk will play for Chelsea again. Until the case is resolved, his immediate focus remains on the disciplinary process and the chance to return to football.
