In a significant move within Saudi Arabian football, the Ministry of Sport has officially announced the sale of Al Qadsiah Football Club. This decision comes as part of a broader strategic plan to privatize several sports clubs across the Kingdom.
The announcement was made on the Ministry’s official social media account on the platform X, stating that the sale of Al Qadsiah Club is now open for investment. The club, which currently competes in the Saudi First Division League, is the second to be offered for privatization following the successful takeover of Al Hilal by the Public Investment Fund’s (PIF) Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) consortium in June 2023.
The Ministry’s post confirmed that the sale process is being conducted in partnership with the National Privatization Center. Interested investors are directed to visit the dedicated investment portal, Investinsports.sa, to review the club’s financial and operational data and submit their acquisition proposals.
This step aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 goals, which include developing the sports sector into a professionally managed, financially sustainable industry. The privatization initiative aims to enhance club competitiveness, improve management, and attract further investment into the domestic football landscape.
Al Qadsiah, based in the city of Khobar, boasts a rich history and a strong fanbase. The club’s sale marks a new chapter in its story and is seen as a pivotal moment in the ongoing transformation of Saudi sports.
