Klopp admits he will miss Salah after Liverpool exit

Jurgen Klopp has admitted he will miss Mohamed Salah “a lot” following the Egyptian star’s departure from Liverpool. The former Reds manager spoke openly about the impact of losing one of the club’s greatest ever players.

Speaking in a recent interview, Klopp reflected on Salah’s time at Anfield and what his exit means for the club. “I will miss him a lot,” Klopp said. “What he has done for this club is incredible. He is a world-class player and an even better person.”

Salah left Liverpool in the summer of 2025 after eight trophy-laden seasons. During his time at the club, he scored over 200 goals and helped Liverpool win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup among other honors.

Klopp, who left his role as Liverpool manager at the end of the 2023-24 season, praised Salah’s professionalism and consistency. “Day in, day out, he gave everything. His numbers speak for themselves, but it was his mentality that set him apart,” Klopp added.

The German coach also revealed that he had spoken to Salah since his departure. “We still talk. He knows how much I respect him. Liverpool fans will never forget what he did for this club,” Klopp said.

Salah currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad, having made the move in 2025. The 33-year-old forward continues to perform at a high level, scoring regularly in the Middle East.

Klopp’s comments come as Liverpool continue to adjust to life without both their former manager and their star forward. The club is currently rebuilding under new management, with a focus on younger talent.

“The club will move forward, that is what Liverpool does,” Klopp said. “But players like Mo don’t come around often. He is special, and I will always be grateful I had the chance to coach him.”
