Kompany and Enrique share awkward moment after tense match

Vincent Kompany and Luis Enrique shared a strange moment after the final whistle at the Parc des Princes, with the Bayern Munich boss admitting he was not happy with what happened.

The two managers met on the pitch following a tense Champions League clash on Tuesday, 26 November 2025. The match ended 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain, a result that leaves Bayern under pressure in the group stage.

As the cameras rolled, Kompany walked towards Enrique and appeared to say something directly to him. The PSG coach responded with a shrug and a brief handshake before turning away. The exchange lasted only a few seconds but it caught the attention of fans and pundits alike.

Speaking after the game, Kompany did not hide his frustration. “I did not like what happened,” he said. “There was a moment in the second half where I felt something was not right. I told him that. It is part of football. We move on.”

Enrique, for his part, played down the incident. “I have respect for Vincent. He is a young coach with a big future. The game was intense. These things happen on the pitch. There is no problem between us,” the Spanish coach stated.

The match itself was decided by a single goal. Ousmane Dembélé found the net in the 68th minute after a quick counter-attack. Bayern pushed for an equaliser but could not break through a disciplined PSG defence.

Kompany’s side now sit third in their group with seven points from five games. PSG moved to ten points and top spot. The final group matchday is set for 11 December 2025, with Bayern needing a win to guarantee progression.

The brief confrontation between the two benches has added extra spice to what was already a high-stakes European night in Paris.
