Moroccan authorities arrest 118 over black market tickets

Moroccan authorities have arrested 118 people in connection with the black market sale of tickets, as part of a wider security campaign targeting illegal ticket trading.

The arrests came during operations carried out in several areas, after investigations pointed to networks involved in selling tickets outside official channels, and at inflated prices.

The move follows growing concern over the spread of ticket touting, especially around major football matches, where demand often leads to large numbers of supporters being exploited.

The authorities said the campaign is aimed at protecting fans and ensuring that tickets reach supporters through legal platforms, while also cracking down on fraud and scams linked to unauthorized sales.

The case also revealed the scale of the phenomenon, with the detention of 118 suspects highlighting how organized the black market has become in Morocco.

Moroccan security services continue to monitor ticket distribution and sales, and warned that further measures will follow against anyone found to be involved in illegal ticket dealings.
