Morocco head coach Walid Regragui received a major boost on the eve of his side’s Africa Cup of Nations clash with Tanzania, as Achraf Hakimi returned to full training and put an end to two months away from action.
The Paris Saint-Germain right-back trained normally with the squad, easing concerns over his availability and giving Regragui more options ahead of the next group match.
Hakimi had been absent from the pitch for around two months, and his return comes at a key moment with Morocco preparing to face Tanzania in the tournament.
Morocco are looking to build on their start in the Africa Cup of Nations, and Hakimi’s presence is important because of his experience and his role on the right side of the team, both in defence and going forward.
The development lifts pressure on Regragui before the Tanzania game, especially with expectations high on the Atlas Lions to push deep into the competition.
