Liam Rosenior set to be named new Chelsea manager

Liam Rosenior is set to be named Chelsea’s new manager after flying to London for final contract negotiations.

The former Hull City boss is understood to be closing in on the job, with Chelsea aiming to have the appointment confirmed in time for the upcoming derby against Fulham.

Rosenior has a personal link to that fixture, having previously played for Fulham, and talks are now at an advanced stage as Chelsea work to finalise terms.

The 39-year-old has been out of work since leaving Hull, where he led the club through a strong spell in the Championship and earned praise for his style of play and work with younger players.

Chelsea’s plan is for Rosenior to be in place quickly, with the club keen to bring clarity to the coaching situation ahead of the Fulham match and the busy run of games that follow.
