Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar has sent a clear message to Morocco ahead of their clash at the Africa Cup of Nations, insisting his team will not allow the Atlas Lions to play their usual game.
Speaking in a video interview, Aboubakar said Cameroon are preparing to face Morocco with a firm approach, stressing that the Indomitable Lions will work to block their opponents’ style and stop them from settling into the match.
“We will stop them from playing,” Aboubakar said, underlining his confidence in Cameroon’s ability to deal with Morocco and impose themselves on the pitch.
The Cameroon captain added that his side are aware of Morocco’s strengths, but believe they have the tools to respond, provided they stay focused and stick to the plan throughout the game.
The comments come as both sides look to take a decisive step in the tournament, with Aboubakar making it clear that Cameroon’s target is to control the contest and limit Morocco’s influence from the first minute.
