Kooora reveals Morocco’s promise to Ounahi after Africa Cup exit

Morocco’s national team have promised midfielder Azzedine Ounahi that he will not be left to face his situation alone after his early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations, Kooora has revealed.

Ounahi was forced out of the tournament with the Atlas Lions after picking up an injury that ruled him out before Morocco’s campaign came to an end.

According to what was revealed, the Morocco squad assured the midfielder they would stand by him and support him through the next stage of his recovery, stressing that he remains an important part of the group despite missing the rest of the competition.

Morocco’s AFCON journey finished with a shock defeat, ending their hopes of going further in the tournament, while Ounahi began focusing on treatment and rehabilitation away from the matchday squad.

The message from inside the camp was clear: the players wanted Ounahi to feel their backing after the disappointment of elimination and the frustration of being unable to help on the pitch.

Ounahi, who has been one of Morocco’s key midfield options in recent years, is now expected to continue his recovery program as the national team staff monitor his condition ahead of future international dates.
