U.S. youth international Cole Campbell has joined Hoffenheim on loan from Borussia Dortmund, with the move confirmed by both clubs. The 18-year-old will spend the rest of the season with the Bundesliga side as he looks for regular first-team minutes.
Campbell, who has been part of Dortmund’s setup after progressing through the club’s youth ranks, will now continue his development at Hoffenheim. The deal is a straight loan, with no other terms officially announced alongside the agreement.
Hoffenheim have brought Campbell in as an attacking option for the second half of the campaign, while Dortmund have allowed the teenager to leave temporarily to gain experience at senior level.
The switch also keeps Campbell in Germany’s top flight, giving him the chance to test himself in the Bundesliga on a weekly basis. The winger remains a player on the U.S. youth international pathway and will aim to push his case further with more exposure in a competitive environment.
