LA Galaxy midfielder Riqui Puig has confirmed he has undergone surgery after suffering an ACL injury and will miss the 2026 season.

Puig shared the update on social media, describing the situation as “one of the toughest moments of my life.”

The former Barcelona player had been a key figure for Galaxy, but the injury has now ruled him out long-term as he begins his recovery process following the operation.

Puig did not hide how difficult the setback has been, while making it clear he is already focused on the road back after completing the surgery.

LA Galaxy will now have to plan without one of their main midfield options as Puig starts rehabilitation with the aim of returning after his layoff.
