Celtic have reappointed Martin O’Neill in a surprise move following the club’s decision to sack Wilfried Nancy.
The announcement marks a dramatic turnaround at Parkhead, with O’Neill returning to the role after the board moved swiftly to change direction in the wake of Nancy’s dismissal.
Celtic confirmed the change on the back of the sacking, with O’Neill now tasked with steadying the side and leading the club forward as the season continues.
The appointment brings back one of the most recognisable figures in Celtic’s modern history, with O’Neill set to begin his new spell immediately after being confirmed as Nancy’s replacement.
