Dominic Calvert-Lewin has made history after being named the PFA Community Champion for 2024-25, becoming the first Leeds United player to win the award since Rio Ferdinand.
The striker has been recognised for his work away from the pitch, with the PFA honouring his impact in the local area. It is a landmark moment for Leeds, with no player from the club having taken home the Community Champion prize since Ferdinand received the same award earlier in his career.
In a statement, the PFA said Calvert-Lewin had been chosen for the way he has used his platform to support community projects and engage with supporters, underlining the importance of players’ work beyond matchdays.
Calvert-Lewin’s success also confirms a notable detail revealed with the announcement: he is now the first Leeds player in more than two decades to earn the recognition, putting his name alongside Ferdinand’s in the club’s modern history.
The award is presented annually by the PFA to celebrate players who have gone above and beyond to help their communities, and Calvert-Lewin’s win adds another highlight to his first season at Elland Road.
