Marcel Hartel has admitted St. Louis CITY “have to do better” as the club looks to turn the page on a difficult run and move forward under interim head coach Yoann Damet.
The midfielder said the standards inside the group must rise, with results and performances needing a clear lift as the team works through a challenging spell. Hartel stressed that the squad’s focus has to be on improving quickly and finding solutions together.
St. Louis are now trying to reset under Damet, with Hartel pointing to the need for a new edge and a stronger response on the pitch. He made it clear that the players have to take responsibility, step up in key moments and show more consistency.
“We have to do better,” Hartel said, as he outlined the urgency within the locker room to turn performances into points and push in a new direction.
Damet has taken charge on an interim basis as St. Louis try to stabilise and rebuild momentum. Hartel believes the group must embrace the change, keep working and show a better version of themselves in the matches ahead.
