A broad campaign has spread in Morocco calling for a boycott of Qatar’s beIN Sports, after anger erupted over what campaigners described as an “Algerian gang” of loud voices influencing the network’s coverage.

The call gained momentum on social media in recent hours, with Moroccan fans accusing the channel of adopting an unfair tone and repeatedly targeting Moroccan football.

Supporters behind the campaign urged viewers to stop following beIN Sports broadcasts and programs, saying the network no longer reflects the balance expected from a major sports broadcaster in the region.

The boycott messages were joined by strong reactions from fans, with some warning that the response would be a “earthquake” if the channel continues with the same approach.

The online movement has been pushed by widely shared posts and hashtags, as fans demanded clearer standards in the channel’s editorial choices and commentary, and called on the network to review the way Moroccan issues and competitions are handled on air.
