Saudi pundit says Al Nassr has zero chance for league and Asia double

A Saudi sports journalist has made a bold claim about Al Nassr’s chances this season, stating that the club has zero possibility of winning both the Saudi Pro League and the AFC Champions League.

Speaking on a local sports program, the pundit did not hold back when assessing Al Nassr’s current form and squad depth. He argued that the team lacks the consistency needed to compete on two major fronts simultaneously.

“Al Nassr’s chances of winning the league and the Asian title this season are 0%,” he said. “The team is not playing at the level required to achieve a double. There are clear weaknesses in the squad, and the competition is too strong.”

The journalist pointed to Al Hilal and Al Ittihad as the main title contenders in the domestic league. He also highlighted that Asian clubs like Urawa Red Diamonds and Al Ain have shown stronger performances in the Champions League so far.

Al Nassr currently sits in second place in the Saudi Pro League standings, trailing the leaders by a significant margin. In Asia, the team has advanced to the knockout stages but has yet to face the tournament’s top sides.

The pundit also questioned the team’s defensive organization and reliance on individual moments from star players. “You cannot win a double based on individual brilliance alone. You need a system, and Al Nassr does not have one that works in big games,” he added.

Al Nassr fans will hope their team proves the pundit wrong as the season progresses. The club last won the domestic league in 2019 and has never lifted the AFC Champions League trophy.
