An investigative report has identified the man behind the letter “A”, the person accused of attacking security during the final of the Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Morocco.

The report said the individual has returned to his home country, where he was welcomed “like a hero”, despite the incidents that marked the end of the final.

According to the same investigation, the identity of “A” was determined after tracing his movements and linking him to what happened during the post-match chaos, when security forces came under attack as they tried to restore order.

The report added that the man’s return and the reception he received have caused fresh anger, with many questioning how someone involved in such scenes could be celebrated instead of being held accountable.

The investigation did not change the official match outcome, but focused on the disorder that followed the final and the figures believed to have played a key role in escalating the situation.
