Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has insisted he is not getting drawn into the growing speculation linking Enzo Fernandez with a move away from Stamford Bridge amid reports of interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s next assignment, Rosenior was asked about the chatter around Fernandez’s future and made it clear he cannot influence what is said outside the club. “I can’t control it,” Rosenior said, as he sought to keep the focus on football matters rather than transfer talk.
Fernandez has been one of Chelsea’s key players and his form has inevitably fuelled stories about potential suitors, with Real Madrid and PSG both mentioned in recent reports.
Rosenior did not offer any fresh details on discussions or negotiations, but his message was firm: his job is to work with the squad he has and prepare the team, not to react to rumours.
The Chelsea boss is now hoping Fernandez’s attention remains on performances on the pitch as the club continues its season, with Rosenior keen to shield his players from distractions and keep standards high within the group.
