Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has provided an update on the condition of Noussair Mazraoui, after the defender suffered a setback following the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ten Hag confirmed that Mazraoui is still not ready to return to action, explaining that the player continues to recover after picking up an issue that appeared after his international duty.

The Dutch coach said the medical staff are monitoring his situation closely, and that Mazraoui will only come back once he is fully fit and there is no risk of making the problem worse.

Mazraoui had faced fitness problems after the AFCON period, delaying his return and keeping him out of contention in recent weeks.

Manchester United are waiting for a clear green light from the medical team before bringing the Morocco international back into the squad.
